Ildikó Iván began her musical career as a flutist, and received her diploma at the Debrecen division of Ferenc Liszt Academy of Music. She is a popular soprano of the Hungarian music scene, a regular guest of various opera companies, an oratorio soloist and noted performer of contemporary music repertoire. She played the leading role in several operatic films: Cosi fan tutte (Miklós Szinetár), The Greatest Ball (Judit Galgóczy), Countess Marica (Ágnes Csenterics) and was the soloist of the Three nocturnes on the Hungaroton recording dedicated to the chamber music of Lajtha. She has also published two solo CDs titled Letter Arias: letter arias and duets from the operatic literature, and Anna Arias : Arias of Anna from the operatic literature.
