State of new Jersey Proclamation for the Grand Europe Ball

WHEREAS, the 1st Annual Grand Europe Ball is held at the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel in New York City on May 1, 2004; and

WHEREAS, attracting business leaders, celebrities and diplomats from around the world, the Ball serves as a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the mutually beneficial and cooperative partnership of the European Union; and

WHEREAS, this year’s Ball celebrates a Europe that is „whole and free”, as well as the historic expansion of the European Union with the inclusion of ten new member states; and

WHEREAS, as of May 1, 2004, Hungary, Latvia, Malta, Slovenia, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Poland, Slovakia, Cyprus and Estonia are members of the European Union;

NOW, THEREFORE, I, JAMES E. McGREEVEY, Governor of the State of New Jersey, do hereby recognize and commend the GRAND EUROPE BALL and extend my best wishes for the future to all in attendance.
