Hope Gala Ball / Reménység Bál - February 16, 2008

The ninth Hope Gala Ball / Reménység Bál will be held on February 16, 2008 at the Hilton Woodbridge in Iselin, NJ. Co-chaired by Mikolt Bányai and Tibor R. Dani, Jr., the Ball is a popular and dynamic event, with an annual attendance of over 200 high profile individuals from throughout the Northeast. A vibrant part of the Hungarian American community and calendar, proceeds from the event will benefit four Hungarian-language schools in the tri-state area.

The Hope Gala Ball / Reménység Bál was established in 1996 by a group of young members of the Magyar Báráti Közösség (Hungarian Communion of Friends), a nonprofit Hungarian cultural and educational organization. Today, the Ball celebrates a common history, language and culture, unites the Hungarian Americans from throughout the New England and mid-Atlantic states, and honors those who have worked tirelessly for Hungarian-American causes, both in the United States and abroad.

This year, the Ball’s proceeds will benefit four Hungarian language schools: the Arany János Iskola in New York, NY, the Fairfield Magyar Iskola in Fairfield, CT, the Széchényi Magyar Iskola in New Brunswick, NJ and the St. István Magyar Iskola in Passaic NJ. Since its inception, the Reménység Bál has helped thousands of Hungarian children and young people in Serbia, Ukraine, Transylvania, the Slovak Republic, and Romania.

This black tie event will once again feature a traditional debutante opening and an exciting fundraising raffle. Music will be provided by the Zoltán Zorándy Orchestra. For more information, please visit
